Flag Holder Project
I wanted to share a quick craft with you today. I have seen these awesome mini flag holders all over blogland and fell in love. When I found out the price, I fell out of love! I figured I could make my own if I could only find an old porch finial... Well, I looked and couldn't find one anywhere. The other day I was coming home from work and saw a couch out in the trash and as I passed it, I noticed they took the bun legs off and they were piled on top of it. I backed up the car and took all four and thought I could make one out of this! Here's what I did: removed the screw from the leg, drill a bunch of holes, paint and distress it and glued in the mini flags. Simple, quick, easy and free, my kind of project.

Love this idea...this gives me a good excuse to get new furniture now. I can use the buns to make flag holders...somehow I don't think this will fly with hubby though. Take care, Janice
Ok girl, I gotta tell you... I'm quite envious of your flag holder!!! Because like you, I wanted one and couldn't believe the prices. So I've been watching for a finial to make my own and haven't come across anything yet. But I will say that I never thought of something like this. I really like the smaller size, I've been looking for something bigger all this time which is probably why I haven't found anything yet. This is very cute Michelle! I will now train my eyes and hope to find a prize on the curb like you did, lol... that is so awesome!!
